This is the built-in program in Windows 10 which was first introduced in Windows Vista. In the first release, there were many bugs included but after the recent updates, they fixed many things. It is now more flexible than ever and works smoothly in this Windows 10.

By using this you can capture the Free-form Snip, Rectangular Snip, Window snip,  whole screen & even some part of the screen. Also, you can edit it directly by using markers and other tools and then send it to anyone instantly with email. The problem is that it can’t capture the mouse pointer as it is used to select the area.

Ok so let’s move to the step by step guide:

  1. First of all, you need to open the Start Menu and then scroll down to the Windows Accessories. Now from there, you need to open the Snipping Tool located below apps.
  2. In the Snipping Tool now you need to select the type of Screenshot from the Down Arrow located next to the New. Choose the type of screenshot of your type and then you see your screen is Dim now with the selector cursor.
  3. Here select that area which you want to capture and then you will notice a new window appear. This is the screenshot what you take. Even you can set the Delay and then you can take a screenshot of the action which takes some time to open.
  4. Just simply click on the save button and your file will be saved in the Documents > Pictures. If you just want to change the extension of the file then simply choose the File > Select Save as > now just type your desired name and select the extension and click on Save.

So all you need to do is just press and hold  “Windows logo key + PrtScn“. If you are using a tablet running Windows just click on “Windows Logo + Volume Down” and it will be automatically saved.

If you are using a computer then simply press the PrtScr or PrntScr which is located mostly near to F12 key. The screenshot is now copied in the clipboard and now open any of your favourite picture editors. Now just click on Edit and then click on Paste or Press Ctrl + V.

If you are a computer or Laptop user you can do it by simply pressing the “Windows Key + Shift + S” at the same time. Now you will see your screen is dim now and the mouse cursor is changed as well.
